CoziDi: Brand Guide Book

A 17-page, brand booklet showcasing the 2023 brand identity of the brand, CoziDi (July 2023).

My skills for this project involved using my graphic design skills to create a high-fidelity, brand identity booklet on Figma. I also experimented with typography and colour and created some mockups of my client's business cards and letterheads.

In this project, I designed a branding book and established the brand identity for an online, e-commerce company, CoziDi, for  my co-op client (the No. 1 rated furniture store in Richmond, BC, Home Quarters Furnishings). I also supported my client's representation of the brand in a visually appealing way and easy read for non-designers. I received feedback from my client and iterated work until completion.

The objective of this project was to establish a new e-commerce company on selling furniture products online that is represented by a Brand Book. I worked alongside my team to identify CoziDi and establish the foundations for this new company.

DISCLAIMER: It is unknown if this brand book is/was published, and has the rights to be owned by CoziDi and Home Quarters Furnishings, although I did establish that the book's purpose was only for the back-end of the team.

Our Target Audience

My client's target audience was mainly on the locals in the Greater Vancouver, BC areas. They wanted to serve the middle class public (ages 25-35 year old). What I helped my client with was to describe that the local customers will have opportunities to shop on CoziDi online, plus having the option to see the product in-person at the Home Quarters Furnishings showroom, boosting the confidence of customers' shopping experience.

Online Research & Scope

Part 1: Connecting with an Online International Mentor

I knew absolutely nothing about branding or brand identity when I first began this project and did not know where to start. I thought about asking some online mentors in the field (Branding and Marketing) on an online mentor source, ADPList, about how to do it. I found and had an insightful conversation with Yena Jeong from the USA, and she shared with me some helpful, online resources to begin my project.

By reaching out to experienced workers in this industry, I can broaden my knowledge at a faster pace for the week I had working on this project and demonstrate my resourcefulness and willing to learn and make connections with others.

Part 2: Creating a Mood Board with Relevant Images

To help with establishing CoziDi's brand identity, I also took the lead and researched for some online stock photos applicable to what my client wanted the company to represent:

Cozy & Relaxing

Worry-Free & Comfortable

Local (Greater Vancouver area)

Furniture Shopping & Furniture Services

Modern & Minimalist

Some images I considered in my research, but did not make it to the final iteration due to lack of cohesiveness in the theme colour and brand identity:

User Journey

After conversing with my client, we wanted to represent the user flow and user experience of CoziDi's online platform. There were two important subjects that CoziDi offered compared to my client's competitors: CoziDi offered products to be seen in-store at the partnered showroom of Home Quarters Furnishings, AND that CoziDi and its partner offers "white glove" service which supports the shipping and building furniture for customers.

Final Outcome and Takeaways

Working so hard on this brand guide book for the one week that I could, I am quite proud that I challenged myself on something new that I did not have background experience on (branding and brand identity). I learned that reaching out to mentors was the best decision and helped guide me throughout my research and design process. I also enjoyed creating each individual page and learned that establishing brand identities were not easy. If I could do this project again, I would reach out to more mentors and stay engaged in more research of other brand book designs.
